on its official instagram account, Hermès has revealed an unexpected series of birkin bags made of real vegetables. three types of bags are currently posted on the fashion brand’s page, reinterpreting the iconic birkin through creative arrangements of asparagus, cabbage and cucumbers. all vegetable bags have been intricately crafted by artist ben denzer.

Hermès posted the three bags separately, accompanying each with a caption reading ‘enjoy the detour as classic Hermès bags inspire art good enough to eat’. on his own instagram, ben denzer shows the production process of the vegetable bags along with some fruit outtakes, such as a banana and an apple birkin that didn’t make the final cut.
