Los Helechos is a minimal residence located in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, designed by Taller Hector Barroso. Los Helechos, a residential project comprising four houses, is a testament to design that embraces and respects nature. Each house is carefully integrated into a challenging hillside location, showing a commitment to preserving the existing landscape and minimizing environmental impact. The design concept revolves around a central courtyard, serving as a transitional space that blurs the lines between the indoors and outdoors. This courtyard is not just a visual focal point but also a place for reflection, bridging the public and private realms of the home. The architecture of Los Helechos is characterized by its unobtrusive presence. It adopts a subtle approach, allowing the natural beauty of the gardens to take center stage. The houses are arranged to ensure a seamless interaction with their natural surroundings, fostering a quiet coexistence with the environment. This relationship with nature is central to the living experience at Los Helechos, offering residents a unique blend of privacy and openness.
