Tisvilde is a minimalist summer house located on the coast of Zealand, Denmark, designed by Henning Larsen. Their desire for an architectural retreat that blends with the rugged, natural beauty of dunes, cliffs, and wilderness has been brought to life through a collaborative effort between Henning Larsen and Garde Hvalsøe. This partnership has birthed the Tisvilde Summer House, a dwelling that embodies a deep connection with its environment, standing as a tribute to the area’s dramatic coastal scenery, enriched by heath, forests, and valleys. The project represents a deliberate effort to honor the natural environment, with the couple aiming to establish a home that respects the land’s inherent sanctity.
The interior of the house showcases a palette of natural colors and textures, offering a sense of comfort through cream-colored curtains, floors adorned with Italian natural stone, and a pervasive use of wood. This material is featured in custom-made furniture, wall panels, and flooring, all crafted by Garde Hvalsøe, bringing warmth and a sense of craftsmanship to the space.
