A blank canvas in Neutral Bay sold for $1 million.

A BLANK canvas at Neutral Bay has sold at auction for a cool $1 million.

The sale was bang on the price guide for the three-bedroom home at 15 Military Rd, set in a location known as “the island”.

The home was owned by the same family for 60 years and is in serious need of some major renovations.

The Agency — North’s Jon Snead said all four registered bidders took part.

“A young family from Haymarket got the property,” he said. “Their first bid was the last bid of the auction, which took the result up to $1 million.”

Mr Snead said all four registered bidders were from different backgrounds.

“We had a first homebuyer in the mix, two were more older and the other was going to flip the property,” he said.

The Agency — North agent said the result showed there were still keen buyers out there in the market.

“While I’ve never sold anything like this property before, it shows that if the right property is priced correctly, a home will get genuine interest from buyers out there.”

Mr Snead said whoever buys it has to do work to the property as it is not liveable.

Situated on 198sqm, the property is located on “the island” — placed between Military Rd and Falcon St.

Big Bear Shopping Centre is located just over the road, while on the other side of the major roadway is buses that run towards the city.

The house comes with two off-street parking permit spaces within the dedicated Roads and Maritime Services parking area.
