“It’s an exceptional piece of land,” Fewster says.

“The gardens are so stunning and mature. You walk up this beautiful grand driveway and all you can hear are birds. It’s amazing.

Fewster says that after 28 years the family is parting ways with the six bedroom, five bathroom mansion, which has been expanded and renovated over time.

The beauty, she says, is that it combines the hallmarks of art deco architecture with a completely modern fit-out, including a contemporary kitchen which opens out to a day-to-day lounge room and living area with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lush grounds.

“The home was built in 1937 by the Winterbottom family so it has some art deco features but was extended about 20 years ago so has a beautiful north-facing open plan kitchen and living area which brings in all the northern winter light,” Fewster says.

“You can see green from every window.”

The formal dining room has retained the original fireplace and overlooks the expansive terraced gardens which includes a canopy of mature trees, Japanese garden and vegetable patch.

There is also a below-ground swimming pool and turf tennis court.
