“Because they have three kids, having a block of 652sq m in Barwon Heads is pretty decent,” Mr Turner said.
“They were attracted to the block size, the house size and the location.”
A classic weatherboard facade retains the original house while a remarkable modern masterpiece for everyday living is found at the rear.

The original part of the house has an open-plan kitchen, meals area and loungeroom plus two bedrooms and bathroom, however the buyers of the property will not be using it as a self-contained unit. Instead it will be made part of the family home.
Two additional bedrooms and sprawling open-plan living area have been added on creating a contemporary space for the family.
Features include solid lime oak floors, white brick wall designed as a gallery space, timber-lined ceilings, imported ‘fish scale’ Japanese tiles in the kitchen, vaulted ceiling above the loungeroom and custom joinery with concealed TV.
The impressive property is a short walk to the shops, school, river and beach.
The median house price in Barwon Heads $890,000, according to CoreLogic.
