At first glance, it looks like just another old house on a quiet street in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
But behind this modest façade, a complete architectural transformation takes place.
The Forest House, designed by Estúdio Zargos, begins with a decision that many projects avoid: instead of demolishing the existing structure, the architects chose to preserve and reinterpret it.
The project reorganizes the interior spaces, introduces new materials, and opens the house toward gardens and courtyards, creating a completely new spatial experience while maintaining the memory of the original building.
The result is a dialogue between past and present — where the original house becomes the foundation for a contemporary way of living.
