Each frame is inherently unique as a result, celebrating natural imperfections, distinct wood grains and knots, and subtle variations in color. The Bed’s double-strength slats ensure minimal noise while providing optimal support and breathability. Lined with durable eco-fi felt made from recycled plastics, the slats lock into place and help prevent your mattress from slipping around on the frame. The bottom of each leg is capped with a pre-applied, cork-padded bottom to protect your floors and provide extra cushion to the already solid setup. This foundation has been rigorously tested, proving to withstand all bedtime activities.
If you’d like to personalize your frame, Thuma does offer a few options. First up is The Headboard, an understated, solid wood upgrade made from the same 100% upcycled rubberwood as The Bed.
Next is The Pillowboard, a pillow-headboard hybrid made of premium, tapered, CertiPUR-US®-certified foam that doesn’t attach to The Bed. Instead, it sits perched on the back of the frame between the mattress and the wall. Designed for comfort and function, it’s a great choice for those of us who love to wind down by reading, with a supportive foam backing that creates the ideal environment for squeezing in just one more chapter before turning off the light. The Pillowboard also features a washable, interchangeable cover in 100% polyester pebbled linen-weave, boucle, or corduroy, so you can keep things fresh or make an update every season.
A third hybrid option allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds – The Headboard Cushion. An upholstered addition to The Headboard, it’s constructed using a higher-density CertiPUR-US®-certified foam than The Pillowboard for firmer support. Powder-coated aluminum plates seamlessly attach to The Headboard for stability and safety.
